About
five miles from the bridge at Ballachulish you will find the turn-off
for the Corran
Ferry. This is run by Highland Council and runs an excellent
service at quarter to and quarter past the hour from the Lochaber
side, and more frequently still if there is a heavy volume of traffic.
It is not possible to book.
The alternative is a 1.5 hour detour around Loch Eil to the north-west
of Fort William. It is possible to travel by train or bus from Glasgow
to Fort William , though as with all west coast transport, once
you leave the station things become rather more difficult with infrequent
connections (where they exist at all!) To explore the Ardnamurchan
and Morvern areas properly you really do need a car.
After passing through Strontian village , follow the road over the
bridge. Turn immediately right where the sign points to Ariundle.
Craigrowan is approx 400 mtrs up the road on your left hand side. There
is a clearly marked parking area behind the house.
